Nitin, Manager of Bank of India Paris branch, has 26 years of experience in Banking. He has many academic accolades during his entire education career. He was a recipient of National Merit Scholarship throughout his college life. While pursuing his post-graduation studies in Genetics & Plant Breeding, he was inducted into banking as a Direct Recruit Officer. Thereafter he joined the Bank of India and went on to pass the professional examination – CAIIB conducted by the Indian Banking Association. He also earned Diploma in Bank Management.
During his banking career, he worked at various places- from rural to international. Apart from working in rural, urban, and metro cities i.e. Mumbai and Delhi, he has also worked in Osaka (japan) and Antwerp (Belgium) branches of Bank of India. His areas of expertise include Foreign Exchange, Credit and Branch Management.
Banking rules, schemes, and facilities for NRI (Non-Resident Indians) and OCI (Overseas Citizens of India) are governed by FEMA (Foreign Exchange Management ACT) and RBI (Reserve Bank of India) directives. In his speech, Nitin will touch upon the rules and regulations relating to different types of Rupee and Foreign currency accounts, their tax impact, remittance rules and limits towards repatriation of funds out of immovable properties / other assets and rules regarding establishment of an office in India. The focus will be on the common issues faced by NRI/OCI.
